Mala – The Speed of Orange focuses on the value of tradition, craftsmanship and faith, which are threatened to get lost or falsified in todays compression of time.
On stage each personality seems to disappear behind a bigger common goal: the performance offered to the public. Following StudioChor Berlin in rehearsals and performances in this project, my lense allowed me to show to the audience what they are usually not shown: The strength of the individual behind the group.
An exhibition is in the making.
A study work. Coelho uses a rich imagery in his writing. We translated them into calligrams.

At first sight this photobook seems like any other, portraying a zoo. But behind each shiny page, a look into the ballet world presents itself, flavoured with some dark irony.
A university project, speaking of the years I spent chasing a perfection that human beings lose their health to reach, following a discipline of aesthetic control that doesn't allow space for inner development and true emotional states in one's life.
What are dancers for a choreographer?
Are they his pencils? White paper? Are they co-creators, technicians, soldiers? Artists? Bodies? Unique characters?
In this series, I observed the different personalities and goals behind ten young dancers working for their choreographer during their time off from dance academy.
Choreographer Tom Elphick and his dancers at the Academy of Dance, Mannheim, Germany.
How can inner movement translate to a 2D surface?
This question started me on using my feet to paint. I went from there to trying any part of my body, depending on where I would feel movement during the moment of creation.

Visual Art for Rendezvous mit BMC
How does movement look on a piece of paper? I invited Body-Mind Centering students to draw, using their whole bodies, asking themselves how their pencils would move if they let them move from body part to body part.
The analogue drawings met digital design, portraying the inner movements that are activated in one's body during those classes.
The visual art supports the association Rendezvous mit BMC. It is being used in flyers, posters, post cards and social media.

Everyone is a piece of art.
The songwriter had my painting in his studio while recording. It became an energetic influence and the visual representation of his work.
The eight songs invite the listener to open up, to dig a little deeper, to discover. The visual concept for the album follows this theme, and the painting naturally became the album cover.

Ballet dancers live for their evening performances. During rehearsals and training, they roll and stretch on the ground all day. They live in a closed world, guided by their body, or managing it. Observing cats I could find interesting paralleles.
